The Final Fight

by George Hatzis

A popular highlight of comic book movies is the final fight between the hero and the villain. The concluding battle between good and evil that truly sets out to define why the hero fights, a battle that has the audience at the edge of their seats as they witness them finally overcome the power of their enemy and become the hero.

But what defines the fight as being enough to make them a hero? How long until it’s just punch after punch and it’s a last man standing scenario? How short can it be that ultimately, it doesn’t feel earned?

Below is a look at each culminating clash of combat in all 11 films existing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and how long each lasted.
